Knowledge Base for LED Signalling in Police Vehicles
Here you’ll find everything you need to know about legislation, certifications, technology, and the maintenance of vehicle lighting. The ECE R65 standard defines the minimum performance for warning lights such as beacons and flashers – crucial for visibility and safety. AEB supplies both classes for a wide range of applications, always reliability-tested.

In addition to ECE approvals, Europe and beyond have additional lighting certifications, such as D-mark, CE, E-mark, R-mark, UL, SAE, RoHS, IP, TÜV, and KEMA. Each of these marks emphasizes aspects like safety, quality, environmental performance, or protection against water and dust, providing extra assurance of reliability and compliance.

From January 1, 2025, stricter requirements for sirens and loudspeakers on emergency vehicles will apply in Brussels. There are limits for sound levels (100 dB during the day, 90 dB at night), requirements for frequency and tone patterns, and a certification obligation. Pneumatic sirens will be banned after four years. AEB supplies electronic sirens that meet the new standards, assists with certification, and offers solutions for both new and existing vehicles.
