The timeline of AEB
Launch of RAIDEN LED-Lightbars and CANBUS controllers
The Raiden LED lightbar belongs to the latest generation of lightweight, CAN-controlled lightbars, launched in 2023.
The priority market is demanding. To meet its requirements, AEB added a new range of CAN-BUS controllers.
Expansion of LED signaling & lighting range
During this period, AEB's range expanded greatly. Alongside the introduction of powerful LED work lights, the assortment was enhanced with LED interior lights, LED rear lights, LED side markers, LED beacons, and LED flashers. The LED signaling range was thus fully optimized for both the amber and blue market.
Introduction to the Blue Market
Around 2010, the first steps were taken towards the “blue market.” This includes all services allowed to drive with priority on public roads: police, ambulance, fire department, organ transport, and the royal civil service.
Launch of LEGION LED Lightbars
With the launch of the LEGION LED lightbar, AEB took a revolutionary step. This modern, brand-new lightbar delivered unprecedented performance in visibility, reliability, and design. The LEGION quickly became a flagship, putting AEB in the national and international spotlight—a product still in high demand today.
Distribution contracts & range expansion
The early 1980s marked the signing of exclusive distribution contracts with European manufacturers like SIM for the distribution of vehicle signaling. By the mid-1980s, AEB followed new trends around xenon and later LED as light sources for signaling devices, steadily expanding the product range.
Start of halogen beacon production
Due to new regulations for agricultural vehicles, AEB began producing halogen beacons in-house in 1970. Production quickly scaled from 500 to over 1,000 units per day. These halogen beacons became one of AEB’s flagship products. Models like the 595 and 590 are known worldwide, still popular, and are proudly produced in-house in Assen to this day. For decades, these beacons have been synonymous with quality, reliability, and recognition in the market.
Founding of AEB
Mr. Kollef founded AEB in 1958 as an engineer. In the early years, mainly seatbelt systems and mirrors were produced for the export market.
